About Hani du Toit
Hani
Coach · Facilitator · Author · Artist
Hani is a Cape Town-based leadership coach, facilitator, author, and artist whose work is animated by a single conviction: that real transformation — in organisations, in communities, and in ourselves — begins when people are given back to themselves.
Drawing on more than two decades of practice at the intersection of social justice, organisational development, and creative expression, Hani works with leaders, teams, and women at pivotal moments of change. Her approach is rooted in the belief that belonging is not a benefit to be granted but a condition to be cultivated — and that genuine inclusion requires courage, craft, and deep inner work. She has worked with organisations across Africa and West Asia, both online and in person, bringing this work into diverse cultural and institutional contexts with rigour and adaptability.
Consulting & Facilitation
As the founder of a Cape Town-based consultancy, Hani works with organisations and educational institutions to build the conditions for inclusive leadership, psychological safety, and collective accountability. Her work is shaped by Ubuntu philosophy, decolonial theory, and a rigorous understanding of how power operates inside institutions. She partners with leadership teams and HR practitioners to move beyond compliance-based diversity initiatives toward cultures where people truly belong.
Her facilitation methodology is deliberately multi-dimensional — weaving together the Enneagram, team coaching frameworks, maturity models, LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®, and SoulCollage® to create engagement that reaches people at cognitive, emotional, somatic, and relational levels simultaneously. She works with organisations across the public and private sectors, with a particular focus on leadership teams navigating complexity, transition, or the aftermath of rupture.
Original Coaching Tools
Hani is the creator of two original coaching tools that have become central to her practice and are used with individuals and teams across Africa and beyond.
Cornerstones of Conversation and Connection is a card deck designed to build trust and cultivate masterful connection. Accompanied by a curated pouch of crystals — each supporting one of four cornerstones: Releasing, Holding, Listening, and Speaking — the deck creates a tactile, multi-sensory experience that draws people into deeper presence with themselves and one another. It is used in coaching sessions, team retreats, and leadership development programmes.
The A-Z of Belonging at Work is a card deck of reflective questions spanning the full landscape of belonging — from Appreciation and Boundaries through to Yes, And and Zero-based Thinking. Designed for use in teams and organisations, the deck offers a structured yet generative way to surface assumptions, open honest dialogue, and build the shared understanding that belonging requires. It sits at the intersection of intellectual rigour and relational warmth — much like Hani’s practice itself.
Both tools reflect Hani’s conviction that transformation requires more than frameworks: it requires artefacts that invite people into a different quality of attention.
Coaching
As a personal leadership coach, Hani specialises in working with women leaders — those who are accomplished and yet sense that something essential has been left behind in the pursuit of performance. Her coaching is trauma-sensitive, decolonial in orientation, and integrative in practice: it holds intellectual rigour alongside emotional depth, and professional aspiration alongside the fullness of a woman’s inner life. She creates the rare kind of container where leaders can think clearly and feel honestly at the same time.
Author
Hani writes and speaks about inclusive leadership, belonging, and the inner dimensions of social transformation. Her thinking challenges the false separation between personal development and political consciousness — arguing that decolonising leadership requires decolonising the self. She contributes to practitioner and academic conversations about equity, organisational culture, and the role of creative practice in enabling change. Her two published coaching tools — Cornerstones of Conversation and Connection and the A-Z of Belonging at Work — extend this intellectual contribution into practical form.
Artist & SoulCollage® Facilitator
Alongside her consulting and coaching work, Hani is an artist and certified SoulCollage® facilitator. SoulCollage® — an intuitive collage-based practice — is for Hani both a personal practice and a facilitation methodology. She runs women’s creative retreats under the theme Come Back to Her, offering participants a rare space to reconnect with their inner landscape through image, intuition, and story.
Her retreats are not wellness events. They are spaces of reclamation — where women who have spent years giving their best selves to institutions, families, and causes are invited to return to themselves.
“The work I do in boardrooms and the work I do in retreat circles is the same work — helping people come home to what they already know to be true.”
